Suggested fundraising target per participant
Join us as we take on the challenge of climbing Ireland’s highest mountain at a lofty 1039 metres.
The Carrauntoohil trail is a strenuous 6–7 hour (11km) route via the Devil’s Ladder on the MacGillycuddys Reeks Mountains, Co. Kerry in the southwest of Ireland. The starting point for this route is Cronin’s Yard. From here, it goes after a river crossing through the extensive Hag’s Glen valley. The trail runs between two picturesque lakes and eventually takes you to the climb of Devil’s Ladder.
The steep ascent is rewarded with stunning panoramic views from the summit. This is the most popular way to the top and ideal for the less regular walker, although it still requires a good level of fitness gained from a daily active life or regular exercise. On the day of your climb, you will be led by qualified and highly experienced mountain guides from Kerry Climbing.
This challenge is open to people aged 16+. Please note that participants aged 16-18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
Whether it’s your first-time fundraising, or you’re a regular fundraiser, we’re here to help you reach your target with top tips and materials. Your fundraising target is €350. All funds raised will go towards vital homeless services.
