We’re sleeping out against homelessness
On October 11, Bill Henry, Matt Canty, Alexander Franke, Saswatee Banerjee, Athira Pichakassery Hari and Ailish Murphy will be stepping a little further outside of their comfort zones – by sleeping out to raise awareness and funds for the fight against homelessness.
We are proud to be joining a team of dedicated colleagues for Focus Ireland’s Shine A Light sleep out, proudly supported by Bord Gáis Energy. Why? Because homelessness is a critical issue that demands our attention, and because business leaders have a responsibility to be active participants in the communities we serve.
Homelessness is a complex issue with no easy solutions. Yet, it's a serious problem affecting communities across the country. We keep reaching record breaking figures on the number of people experiencing homelessness, which includes over 4,000 children. This is unacceptable.
While a one-night sleep out is certainly not the same, it offers a glimpse into the vulnerability and hardship faced by thousands of people in Ireland without a safe and secure home.
We believe in leading by example. By participating in this event, we hope to inspire others to get involved to raise funds to support vital homeless services.
